Site Designs
Xtron Imaging Inc.
Xtron Imaging required a new website to match their new digital-age imaging solutions. Their old website, built in 2000 lacked the modern look their competitors enjoyed.
I worked with Xtron closely during this project, almost daily. This allowed us to go from intial contact to final deployment in 5 weeks. Maintaining an open line of communication was the key to making quick progress.

Real Estate sites are inherently graphic intensive. It is thus very important to minimize the number of graphics that are used for non-essential page creation.
By utilizing CSS we were able to build a lightweight, yet powerful website that will scale elegantly. The Google Maps API is used to plot housing on a custom Property Map. This allows potential buyers to get a big picture geographical view, and be linked directly to the important details.
Skyway Printing
Skyway Printing provides a full range of print, advertising, and design services to the Grey/Bruce area. They wanted a website that fit in with their company. It was to function both as a customer facing information place, and an employee utility that provided quick access to valuable information.
Due to the unique area which they serve, it was important that the website weigh very little because many of their customers still use a dial-up internet connection.
Cruise Miss Toronto
Miss Toronto is Toronto's signature Yacht. This project was done in conjunction with Jason Smith. It involved a complete recoding, and a partial rewording of the content.
The real challenge was to minimize extraneous markup as much as possible. Styling the body and HTML tags helped up create some super-efficient code.
Re-Coding iAnywhere.com
Recoding the entire website of a multi-national software company is not a simple task, in the pre-css world. During my second co-op term with iAnywhere I lead the standards effort. 1600 pages later they've got the same look, but only half the markup!
Many people want to know some hard and fast statistics about the benefits of writing good markup, and here we find a good case study. One page, their main product page, was reduced from 27.5kb to only 17kb. That is a 40% reduction in code, with the exact same look and page content. Have a look at the old and new pages markup for yourself.
AvantGo Corporate Style Sheets
Another artifact of my 1B Co-op term at iAnywhere/Sybase. I created the style sheets for the AvantGo Corporate website. It was unfortunate that I didn't have time to transfer all the content to the new templates, but it got finished and it looks beautiful.
WAVE Team
WAVE Team is the University of Waterloo's entrant in the DARPA Grand Challenge competition. I've decided to contribute by doing what I do best, Web Developement.
The team is composed primarily of Engineers and Computer Scientists, but is not limited to those faculties. If your interested in getting involved or just learning more check out the website www.thetideiscoming.org.
UofW Womens Ice Hockey
The womens Ice Hockey website update was kind of a bit of a trip back in time. There were a couple of legacy sites mashed together, and I had to update it using the University of Waterloo's Style Sheets. It required a couple of new graphics, including the collage on the index page.
It basically needed to fit in with the other intramural websites, more specifically the mens hockey site. Beyond that I had a little bit of creative freedom which I chose to try and produce a 'smooth-curved' style.
